Weekly Update:
Hello All,
I hope you enjoyed a fabulous long weekend!! This morning I got to hear about some fun adventures and great time that was spent with family and friends. The weather was glorious too. I hope we can relish in this for awhile.
Today we kicked off the week with lots of Earth Day discussion and activities. The kiddos made a beautiful Earth using markers, a coffee filter and a spray bottle, and then they wrote about their promises to the Earth. Tonight's reading HW is an article about Earth Day. It was a short one. I did tell the kiddos that if there was still time after, that we are expected to read their library books to get to the 20 min. of HW time. We still have several weeks left to cram what we can it and stretch our brains!
We will continue with the Earth Day theme, reading and learning more about our beautiful Earth all week. This correlates nicely to our science unit on butterflies and their lifecycle too which we'll begin tomorrow. Hoping to receive our very own live caterpillars soon!
Just a few things:
I think that is all for now.

- This week our phonics patterns are soft c and g. When these letters come before c, y or i it will say the soft letter sound.
- In math we're creating graphs (ask your child what their graph question was). We will move into geometry at the end of the week.
- We're still focusing on main idea in language arts.
- I will not be in the class tomorrow, but at school. I will be pulling your child to read to them to get their end of the year reading level.
Just a few things:
- Scholastic book orders due at the end of the week if you are interested!
