All About Mrs. Mills:I was born and and raised here in Austin, TX. I graduated from Westlake High School and continued on to the University of Texas where I got a degree in Early Education with a minor in Spanish. Before starting my teaching career here at Bridge Point in 2005, I lived in NYC working as a nanny and was a swim coach at Lost Creek Country Club.
In December 2008, I married my husband Sean. We have a very unique history. He was also born and raised in Austin and like me, grew up in Eanes and continued on to UT. We were not high school sweethearts nor close friends in college. However, we have come to find out that we were in the same 1st grade class at Eanes Elementary. Can you believe that? Not only do we share a very similar upbringing, but we also share a love for Mexican food, the Dallas Cowboys, and the wonderful city we live in! We consider ourselves very lucky to be able to live and work in Austin.
Sean and I have 2 boys, Charlie and Harris. They both attend the CDC through the district. I enjoyed my time off this summer hanging out with my boys at the pool, park, and neighborhood splash pads. We also took the boys to the beach for our annual Mills family vacation with our extended family. Sean and I are also aunt and uncle to 11 nieces and nephews. My family and I enjoy spending time out on the lake, watching football with our friends, and traveling. We love heading to Mexico in the winter and Colorado in the summer.
I love teaching and feel very fortunate to be at a school with supportive families and wonderful kids. I believe that having a good working relationship between teachers and parents is an extremely important part of our student’s academic success. I tend to think of parents and teachers as “partners” in our mutual effort toward the shared goal of growing responsible, confident and successful students. I look forward to another great year at BPE!
